Let me tell you a little more about myself

I was born in 1993 and raised in the Netherlands, and moved to North Vancouver in 2018 for the love of my life — my husband, who I met while traveling through Southeast Asia in 2015. We've been together for 10 years now, and I genuinely love the life we've built here.

Photography has been part of mine since I was 12, when I bought my first camera with saved-up pocket money. I honestly can't remember life without a camera in my hand.

After college, I traveled for a few years — over 35 countries so far — and it was during that time my photography really took shape. I moved away from posed, staged shots toward something more documentary: real, unposed moments that actually tell a story, rather than ones that just look nice.

When I'm not shooting, you'll usually find me hiking, camping, spinning, or catching up with friends over coffee or a glass of wine. My biggest love is my husband, closely followed by my dog, my camera, and time in nature. Living far from my own family has made me appreciate photos even more — they're how we hold onto and share the moments that matter most, especially when distance gets in the way.

Through Fardou Photography, I bring that same love of storytelling to every wedding, family, and milestone I'm trusted to photograph — real, a little raw, and honest.

Take a look through my portfolio, and if it feels like a fit, I'd love to hear your story.

Fact 4

My photography style is all about capturing real, raw moments. I love telling stories through unposed, candid shots that reflect the true essence of life’s most important moments.

My style is romantic and emotive, with a deep focus on love stories told in natural settings. I lean into the outdoors — mountains, forests, coastlines — letting the landscape enhance the emotion of the moment rather than compete with it.

I aim for something timeless and authentic: real connection over forced posing. My approach blends candid, in-between moments with thoughtfully composed images, so what you're left with isn't just a record of the day, but a reflection of your story.
